Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 13, 2026
1. Overview
TaxBreakTools ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website taxbreaktools.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. Data We Collect
Data You Provide
Our tax calculators run entirely in your browser. Any numbers you enter (tip income, wages, state selection) are processed locally using JavaScript and are never transmitted to our servers. No personally identifiable financial data is collected or stored server-side. If you choose to use browser localStorage for saving preferences, that data remains on your device.
Data Collected Automatically
We may automatically collect:
- IP address (anonymized where possible)
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring URL
- Device type and screen resolution
Vercel hosts the site and may process this technical request information in infrastructure and security logs. Google Analytics is configured as a possible future measurement provider but is currently disabled. Advertising is not enabled.
3. Third-Party Services
Google AdSense & Advertising
Google AdSense is configured as a possible future advertising provider but is not currently enabled. We will verify account approval, enable the consent controls required for the intended audience, and update this policy before activating advertising.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or turn off ad personalization entirely at My Ad Center.
We do not currently load third-party advertising scripts or advertising cookies.
You may also use the Digital Advertising Alliance's interest-based advertising opt-out tool.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is configured as a possible future measurement provider but is currently disabled. It will remain disabled until a domain-valid consent platform is enabled. If analytics is activated later, visitors will be able to decline it through the consent control or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookiebot Consent Management
Cookiebot is configured as a possible future consent management platform but is currently disabled because a domain-valid consent configuration has not been completed for taxbreaktools.com. Optional analytics and advertising scripts are also disabled while the consent platform is off. Cookiebot's privacy practices are described in Cookiebot's Privacy Policy.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve our tax calculators and tools
- To understand how visitors use our site if consent-based analytics is enabled later
- To support the free service with advertising in the future, if approved and enabled
- To comply with legal obligations
5. Data Retention
We do not store calculator inputs or personally identifiable financial data in our own database. Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted by the calculators. Google Analytics and advertising are currently disabled. Vercel may retain hosting and security logs according to its service plan, security needs, backups, legal obligations, and current provider policies.
6. Cookies
The current and possible future cookie categories are:
- Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality.
- Analytics cookies: Currently disabled. If enabled later, they would help us understand how visitors use the site after consent.
